College of Coastal Georgia
continues to grow to meet the
academic needs of the
residents of Glynn, McIntosh
and Camden counties.
The new Campus Center consists of approximately 50,000 square feet and includes new Dining
and Food Service areas, a Bookstore, a Cafe, a Health Center, Student Services and Student
Organization space.
Facilities Automation Solutions is looking forward to the University’s ongoing growth of their
Brunswick, Georgia campus by providing building automation and controls solutions.

Facility Automation Solutions has partnered with Jacksonville University for their building
automation system requirements on their new Marine Science Research Institute.
This project was completed in September 2010. According to JU’s website, www.ju.edu, the school
received Gold Certification by the U.S. Green Buildings Council’s Leadership and Energy
Environmental Design (LEED) Standards.
The new Marine Science Research Institute was planned as a sustainable, environmentally-friendly
structure. Some of the ‘green’ elements of the facilities include:

East-West oriented building to reduce
solar heat load
•
Solar hot water
•
Natural light through most of the
occupied space in the building
•
High-efficiency HVAC System
•
Recycled more than 80% of construction waste
•
Low-energy lighting
•
Harvesting rainwater to use in restrooms, boathouse and irrigation
